View Full Version : February Photo Project: Lanscapes
I know this is a challenging subject for February, but I think it is a good one. I have had the bug for it for a while now, and now that I have a wide enough lens to really get some nice ones I have been out playing with it. So lets see what you guys can come up with for...
Alison 02-01-2008, 01:26 AM Yeah thanks John! This is one of my strong points...NOT! haha
Maybe I will learn something from the project this month.

Wow,
Very strong image Ali, The angles couldn't be better. I love how the fence grabs me at the corner and just pulls me in. Good eye on this one. And that sky, wow, great detail!
jkriminger 02-01-2008, 02:30 AM I have a few of these...:)

OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:21 PM Wow all! There are some nice landscapes submitted here. Thanks.
Landscapes are something I'm attracted to. I feel that I can never capture the beauty that my eyes see and my heart feels... But, I try.
I'll post a series for the challenge. I hope it's Ok that I go back in time. I'll start with a recent trip to Mt. Rainier last summer.
Thanks for looking,
Tim
OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:25 PM I hope it's not breaking the rules to have people in the image, but these people were in the way (Actually, that's my best friend and my daughter.).
OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:28 PM Last spring I was fortunate to sail from La Paz to Loredo. It was absolutely stunning. Beautiful geography, plants, and sea life.
OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:33 PM Shooting this evening was particularly challenging because of the overcast conditions. I had to wait good periods for the sun to finally show. It payed off here. This shot is farther up the hill.
OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:36 PM From another sailboat trip. Pelican Kay.
OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:38 PM Not a sweeping landscape, but a landscape format.

OldSchool 02-08-2008, 12:46 PM Ok. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to share my work, and thanks for sharing yours.
My last shot is from the Point Reyes National Sea Shore, California.

Old Timer 02-09-2008, 01:00 PM Don't consider myself a landscape photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but here is one I stumbled across yesterday.

I have always found your landscapes to be very pleasing, Larry. They always have something to them, that thing that sets them apart from the typical. Like the tree in this scene. Very well seen and captured.
PrevailingConditions 02-09-2008, 03:17 PM I wasn't going to add any more, but I got such nice feedback on this that I feel compelled.

Wow! What a great thread. Do you mind if I march in with some pictures I took with my P&S Powershot A620 last summer? Those 2 were taken in Austria. They have no Photoshop or anything else addes, as I don't know anything about editing. I hope they are not that bad.

OldSchool 02-09-2008, 06:50 PM Hey Thanks,
I like your pier and waterfall submissions a lot. You have a nice touch with the longer exposures.
Cheers,

Alison 02-14-2008, 12:35 AM I am totally blown away by the entries in this month's project! Great suggestion John. (Although, I'm not doing very well this month am I? lol). There's nothing as spectacular to see, as what is being posted, around here!

PhotoDad17 02-27-2008, 02:18 PM WOW, some nice shots here. Lots of good ideas!
Mine isn't even close to on par with these... but this is a cool one I took of Lake Pyramid while driving home one evening after taking my kids to the snow for the day at Frazier Park.
Some post work done in CS3 to make the colors richer, but this what it looked like. Amazing weather that day.
