View Full Version : Know what I hate?
Photo-John 01-22-2008, 12:15 PM I hate how the "Revert" option is right next to the "Save For Web" option in Photoshop. Periodically I hit Revert instead of Save For Web and everything I just did unravels in front of me. Really pisses me off. Luckily, History means I don't lose all my work. But I still have to wait for the Revert process to finish. This has been annoying me for years. It should have an "Are You Sure" window pop up or something.
What do you hate?:mad2:
jorgemonkey 01-22-2008, 12:46 PM You know, you could just use (in Windows version) CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + S to get to the save for web command faster :)
I hate when I'm out shooting, and either:
A. my flash batteries (I thought I charged them!) die on me, or
B. I'm out shooting, and the shutter on my camera starts sticking. :(

That key command is too complicated. It's like just pounding the whole left side of the keyboard with your fist :D
SmartWombat 01-22-2008, 02:00 PM Well Alt Gr is equivalent to Ctrl+Alt (usually, unless the application reads scan codes)
So it's a two-handed command
Alt Gr and Shift on the right hand, S on the left
The keyboard is your friend, John - really it is !
And using two hands is a really useful technique :)
Hey, it's only three fingers, I'm sure you could manage that <g, d&r>

That sounds like something to get the veins in ones head throbbing . . .fortunately I have not had that issue and I hit "save for web" often. There should be an "Are you sure" command after something like that.
I hate when I'm all lined up and set for a shot. . .tripod, settings, light everything is ready and then a family with 10 kids, grandma, grandpa strollers, Johnnies electric corvette the whole nine yards comes and plants themselves right in the middle of the scene:mad2: Then I hear "Oh look Johnnie, that camera man is gonna take our picture :cryin: I know it's not their fault, but damn that pisses me off.

You nailed it right there for me too Gary.
Peaple getting in the way of a nice image drives me nuts. This summer the wife and I hiked a couple miles to a water fall in the Tetons. When we reached the falls, there must have been about 20 kids there. Crawling all over the fence, and plaing in the water at the base of the falls. I guess the 5 adults in charge of these brats couldn't read the signs saying don't go beyond the fence. I was truely hoping one of the kids would fall in the river and get swept down stream. Does that make me a bad person? :D I can't blame the kids though, they were just being kids, but I sure wanted to beat the adults who were supposed to be watching them. And lets not forget about the one kid who would grab my tripod when I was set up to take long exposures of the fall. :mad2:
adina 01-23-2008, 04:57 AM I hate when I leave my house and find out an hour later that I have absolutely no lip product with me.
Oh wait, did you want photography? In that case, I'm going to go with calibration devices.
Old Timer 01-23-2008, 05:02 AM AMEN!!! It's happened more than once. And I just smile and go on my merry way.
Old Timer 01-23-2008, 05:04 AM I hate that I have to be a computer whiz to be a photographer now.
readingr 01-23-2008, 05:38 AM Gary, Mike,
Boy is that a bug bear - especially when in the forest with the deer in the right spot ans as you take the pic some (derogatory terms) person scares it away. :Mad2: Its happened a lot.
My other annoyance is batteries or cards needing to be changed just when the best picture presents itself. Mind you that could be the way I look at things and the pic is actually very ordinary:lol:

Xia_Ke 01-23-2008, 06:09 AM I hate it when the perfect lighting I've been waiting for for a certain shot appears, then I get there and shoot a roll only to find that stupid me had moved the empty roll in my Rollei to the take up spot without putting in a new roll. So what I thought was nice roll of Acros getting the shots I wanted, was actually nothing but dead air. Of course by the time I realized it and put in a new roll, my opportunity had passed :mad2:
This is kinda fun. Maybe we need an official rant thread...LOL

Well yes that too. :wink5:
gahspidy 01-23-2008, 08:09 AM I think John meant for this to be software related hate things. . . .sorry if we hijacked the thread here, but you know once you start talking about things people hate this can go all over the place. . .and jeez I hate that too
adina 01-23-2008, 08:25 AM Software....
For some reason, PS reset itself and all my actions deleted. I have the ones I downloaded saved elsewhere, but my workflow ones are gone.
