Right now? Just got out of the car and Lorreta was on XM. But for today I think I would have to say "Crazy" Patsy Cline. The Admiral likes XM 13 so that was on coming home from Steak & Shake and Patsy will always be my favorite.

Tomorrow? Who knows? Rock, jazz, country, blues.

Isaac Guillory - Poor Wayfarin' Stranger

Probably the definitive set (Berkeley 1989)
I was luck enough to see him for 10 years at Cambridge Folk Festival, a highlight of the year and open mouthed slack-jawed awe at his mastery.
Saw him play in London with John Renbourn.
I don't remember any of what John did (sorry John!) Isaac was on fire that night.
God I miss that man !

I use I-Tunes to power my stereo. I Tunes on my computer is very strange. In my R&B/Blues "smart" playlist resides my favorite song for yesterday, Burn, Baby Burn by Rev.F.D. Kirkpatrick and Jim Collier. It is a folk song (The Best Of Broadside 1962-1988 (disk 5)). I also have new age music from Enya in there, alternative music from The Clash, country from Emmylou Harris (At The Ryman) and reggae music from Bob Marley.
Clearly, my smart folders are not that smart. The strange thing is that I really like some of the combinations, making me consider that the playlists may be smart because they do not follow the parameters they are given exactly.
My favorite song for today is Cattle Call by Emmylou Harris (At The Ryman).

Reggae thru four 15" subs will do it! :)

For me it's Satellite Radio by Steve Earle (http://www.steveearle.com/music/albums/WashingtonSquareSerenade.aspx). Did I mention I saw him live a month and a half ago? If not, I'm surprised because I think I told the rest of the world. Seriously might head up to Milwaukee when he's there again in July.

they were actually 215V's. The bottom 15 is a pseudo sub, middle 15 handles the mids and then add a 2" horn on top for voice and the highs. They're not a bad bang for the buck cabinet. We use them as a portable system to roll around our five campuses for everything from a play, to a dance recital.

Today's stuck in the head song was Sade's Smooth Operator.

Today's stuck in the head song was Sade's Smooth Operator.

Her bass player is great - a guy named Paul Denman. His solo on that song is cool, but really it's the way he plays with the band that does it for me.

There hasn't been enough of "today" to have a favorite song just yet but I was big on Yours and Mine by Calexico last night.

Tool - Reflection

Excellent Anbesol
The only interesting piece of music on this thread for me anyway.
I have not heard of him in my neck of the woods yet. I will explore further.
Thanks

Thanks, yeah I really like him, he puts together brilliant albums.

The song thread definitely details the diversity of these boards, I never thought I would be odd man out posting Tool, lol.

FYI thats on his Album Lateralus. Aenima is probably his best stuff, but you'll really dig 10,000 days and Lateralus too.

Not sure how I missed the Tool post before. I love Tool. I was introduced to Tool in college when I saw the video for Sober.

When I was out west last summer, I found a rock station that played a Tool song all the time. I loved that song, but I don't remember the name of it.

If the radio was playing it a lot last summer, I would guess it was Vicarious, from his most recent album 10,000 days. I am rather fond of his brutal lyrical style, while most people are put quite off by it. It's nice to sing about sunny skies and cherry gum drops, or getting a new lover or losing the old, but sometimes I like something more real, original and unique..
