I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this but,
I recently found a Polaroid "Spectra System" at a Goodwill store for $2.99. I bought new film for it and surprisingly the camera works. However, I think something may be wrong with it, for example, when I take pictures of people they are almost always blurry. The farther away they are in the shot, the less blurry they are but people are never completely in focus. I've never used a Polaroid camera before but am guessing that I'm not doing anything wrong. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be and if there is a way to salvage this camera because I would love to be able to use it.
Thanks.

Hi uniformlucidity, welcome to PR :) I did a little bit of digging on Google. Not sure exactly which model you have but, seems like some have/had some issues with the AF. Sounds like this might be the case with yours. These cameras are so cheap now, I wouldn't waste the money bringing it in and having it repaired. Sorry I can't help you more.

You know, we had a Spectra at work for a while. I seem to remember there was a plastic slide that could be positioned infront of the lens, depending on whether or not you were taking close-up shots - close-up meaning less than about 12'. I think the slide was supposed to be infront of the lens for close-ups.

I don't remember what model Spectra it was, but it's possible that the slide is in the wrong position.

Don't know if that helps...
