I've been reading about compact camera's, but every time I decide I read something different.

My first camera was a Fuji E550. I really liked it. It broke so I bought a canon A460. I was not so happy with it. I may just have it set wrong (think I usually use portrait scene mode) but the photos indoors are dark and grainy. even if the subject is well lit, the walls and back ground look grainy or may have spots. Is "noise" the same thing as grainy?

Most important is indoor use, day or night. Things like parties, etc. That's like 80%. Then I'd like to be able to do vacation type photography. Bright outdoors, etc.

The models I've liked are:
Panasonic dmc-fx33
Canon SD 800 is
Fuji F50fd
Panasonic dmc-tz3

What has the best image quality?
Are they all great quality images only at ISO 200 or less?
Does the intelligent auto on the fx33 make it a stand out?

Thanks Russ

...oooh, the canon G9 looks really cool. (or fuji s9100)

a couple hundred more than what I'd listed.
with both in auto mode do you think it would take a noticeably better photo than the cameras I listed above?
I'm not a photoshop guy or bracket photo taker.

Thx Rus
