Hello,
Here's another reflection shot, but I keep going back and forth on this one so I'm hoping for some guidance. What are your thoughts about this one?
Thanks in advance,
PC

problem is that it took me a while to figure out what it was...
i love the idea of reflections and reflections only to show the shot, but this is a bit dark and i couldn't quite figure out what it was.
i realised that it was a ship and possibly an anchor but it wasn't too clear to me at first.
as you know i love b & w and wish that i could find more positive stuff to see. i can't though.
perhaps a wider perspective ???????
Note me as one in favor of the shot. I would like to see the small distractions from the upper left corner eliminated if possible based on the camera angle as that would simplify some of the lines but I like the direction you are going.

I would go with a wider lens, cause I'd really like to see the whole boat.

I like this a lot.
You haven't gone all the way to the joins in the plates, the points of the squares on the right are cut off. We know they're there, but you haven't shown them. I like that.
There's a double reflection, the hull in the water obviously, but also the rudder post reflected in the hull.
I'm not sure about whatever is on the water to the left.
In one way I like the triangular shape of it, but also it obscures part of the reflection.
Beyond that there's what might be a duck's backside, but it's too little to know what it is. Again I'm unsure about that because it feels a distraction, but then there's the mystery - is it a bird, is it a float ...
Oh and nice title too :)
I like it PC, but I think it would be better if it were a little less symmetric. Try cropping out a little of the top, or a little of the bottom, and see what you get. Also would have tried a lower perspective aiming up to create some distortion. The shadow area shows nice, Imo.

Nice work PC, I think you should darken the bright area middle, left. But I like it.

threelions - thanks for getting things kicked off. For those still wondering, this is the stern of a fairly good sized boat at the waterline. The bright pipe like thing is the rudder going down into the water.
Mule - thanks for the comments. The stuff in the upper left is a reflection from a building across the waterway. I'll have to see if I have a different shot where it's not quite so noticeable.
Louis - I tried some shots that included more of the boat, but they just looked like shots of a boat and I've done too many of those. I was trying for something a little more abstract.
Paul - Thanks for the nice comments. I was really intrigued by the many reflections when I was there along with the different shapes from the boat.
G - I was trying to avoid placing the rudder dead center horizontally, but I didn't really think about positioning it vertically. I'll see about cropping the top and maybe flipping it horizontally, mostly because I like that upper right corner.
Greg - I was also worried about that portion of the rudder being too hot. I was trying to get a stronger contrast between the lights and darks, but this came out a little too bright for the web. I still have some detail when I see the original on my monitor so I can probably tone it down some.
Thank you so much for the great comments and feedback.
