Went out to Ding Darling this morning in hopes of catching a few of the White Pelicans that have returned for the winter. Was actually a pretty quiet day out there (relatively speaking). I did, of course, run across a few critters to shoot:

Reddish Egret (I was on my stomach in the mud to get this POV, but it was worth it):

Young Raccoon. This little fellow happened along while I was laying in the mud shooting the Reddish Egret. All I had was my 600mm L, so I swung that beast around and shot him a few times before he breached my minimum focusing distance of 18 feet. He walked within 4 feet of me. I sure was wishing I had my 70-200L on my XTi right about then! Anyway, this was about the best I could do.....shooting him as he left the trees walking toward me:
