It was such a nice day today, I couldn't let it go to waste. Went to the state park today and sat my butt down behind the office. They have a couple bird feeders back there, so I figured if I was patient enough, they would eventually perch in the tree next to me. These were all shot with my elbows resting on my knees for my support. I do not have an ID on the first two, but the others are a blackcapped chickadee (duh), a junco and a Harris's Sparrow. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Thanks cassie and Scott. Your comments are appreciated. I since learned, the first 2 are goldfinches in their winter plumage. The first must be the female and the 2nd, the male.

Nice images - good to see that someone still has some colourful birds around! All our migratory birds have pretty much gone south, so we are left with magpies, crows and some sparrows. Very hard to get close to these three as they travel in packs and always seem to have a guard posted in a high tree or rooftop. (maybe I should get that camouflage suit - lol)
Cheers,

The juncos and chickadees, along with downy woodpeckers and nuthatches, will stick around all winter. I don't know how some of the little birdies can survive our cold winters.
Thanks, WesternGuy.

I can somtimes see the kind in the 3 pic.it's a tough task to focus on them among the branches.
