View Full Version : October Photo Project: Look Up
Alison 10-01-2007, 02:01 AM This is something I ALWAYS forget to do! And because of that I miss alot of beauty.
Maybe this month's project will encourage me and others to "Look Up" more often. (I know Roger does lol).
Have fun!

Loupey 10-03-2007, 01:52 PM I title my submission as Don't Look Up
Seriously, I was more apprehensive getting this shot than anything else that I can remember. At no more than 5' directly above my head, I knew I had only a split second to dodge anything coming my way.
Is hazardous pay included with this project?
SmartWombat 10-03-2007, 03:39 PM no hazard pay - just a bottle of lens cleaner !
SmartWombat 10-03-2007, 03:41 PM Hears a loud chattering of roosting starlings, looked up and shot this lot.

From my trip to Pearl Harbor last year.
This shot is over-exposed, but for some odd reason I just love it that way. This is the flag that flies on top of the USS Arizona Memorial. I took the shots from inside the memorial.

Loupey 10-10-2007, 04:45 PM Shot during my recent air show trip.
No idea who she was. But it just occurred to me that the only shot I seemed not to shoot was the one with all 100,000+ people all looking up at the planes at the same time.
Sigh, the forest-for-the-trees kind of thing.
Xia_Ke 10-10-2007, 07:46 PM Thought it was time I submitted something. Here's a shot from today's hike...
Alison 10-11-2007, 05:48 AM A closer look at the Gull.

SmartWombat 10-26-2007, 04:25 PM Well not a lot else you can do through eau Rouge/Radillon.
Yes, the lap was red-flagged for an incident.
Ardennes = forest + rain = slippery track
SmartWombat 10-26-2007, 04:28 PM I suppose I should show the scale of the hill

A few of the kids from my daughter's water polo team. I'm on the bottom of the pool in SCUBA gear with my Sea & Sea 750G point and shoot.
I really like that pic Michael!
SmartWombat 10-29-2007, 01:44 PM lovely clear sky and shades of blue
SmartWombat 10-29-2007, 01:52 PM I'm on the bottom of the pool in SCUBA gear
Now that is dedication to the project !
And an interesting view for the sports forum, too - do you have any pictures of them during a match from underwater, or even better with the water bisecting the frame ?
Look up is working for me this month. I broke my leg getting hit on the football field two weeks ago. I can't walk for 6 weeks. <sigh> Yesterday was the perfect photo shoot. I shot all of my photos sitting or laying on the ground. This was a special shoot for our Senior boys.

The most beautiful bald eagle flew above us right b4 the shoot. Too bad I had my 15mm fisheye on my camera.

Thanks JETA and Paul. The shutter lag is way to slow to get any decent action shots, pretty much a hit and miss operation. I did spend some time in goal going for the half in and half out shot and only succeeded in taking one to many shots to the head. I am going to be doing this set up for our Boys and Girls Varsity water polo teams for their yearbook and promotional shots. Our Girls team hasn't lost a game in the last 7 years and has won the state championships for all of them also.
Old Timer 10-30-2007, 02:31 PM My humble entry.
SmartWombat 10-31-2007, 12:52 PM last minute entry ;)
OK, everybody meet my nephew and neice Jonathan Frankenfurter and Rachel McGakle (their alias').
No, Jonathan and Rachel are not really small, I just forgot to upload the photo. They are worth the wait...
I think I finally got it right. Must be Halloween gremlins
SmartWombat 10-31-2007, 03:45 PM 18 minutes to go, I nearly forgot about these !
Old Timer 10-31-2007, 04:21 PM Getting under the wire with one from this afternoon.
