just thought I'd plug the D70 again...I am still astounded at the quality and accuracy of skintones with this happy little camera...this was a quick "trying to get the girl and practice shot" using 105mm(manual focus), f/2.5, handheld(no joke) at 1/25th iso 200

just sharing my cutie and my excitement..that's all :D

Cute pic Nat!
Right now, I'd just settle for a 28-70 f/2.8 AF-S lens!

Incredible skintones. I love the colors and saturation I'm seeing out of the D70.

Nikon has made quantum leaps in their sensor/metering/CCD technology. I don't what they've done, or where, but it WORKS!

PS - I don't have the money for a D70, but I'm really getting to where I want one!

I love to! Just as soon as someone want's to donate $2000 to my cause... I know that's more than I need for the camera, but you have to know the camera by itself isn't enough... I'd still need a telephoto lens, tripod, external flash, memory card..........better make that $2500.... :)

Oh, and that's a beautiful photo, and a cute kid..

Settings as I read them off...

development:Sharp
WB: Sunny
Sharpness :high
Saturation: Normal
Mode Exp +/-: M-2.0

and everything else is in the first post....

You have no idea how excited I was that it was actually in focus... I'm supposed to wear glasses and I don't---you have no idea how many other shots there were that were blurry but looked totally tack sharp to me DOH!!!!

Great pic, Natalie - but I have a confession...

I was waiting for a payout on a web site I just built and I was gearing up to buy a D70 and a few lenses and such. The check, however, has been in the proverbial mail for a while, so I started reconsidering my options...and it happened... I didn't mean it to... it just did...

I changed my mind...

I'm now buying the 10D...

Can't you just feel Sebastian grinning somewhere right now?

You don't need to convince me that I need a D70. It's been on my shopping list for some time. Unfortunately the shopping list has only been getting longer, not shorter.

BTW the photo is absolutely gorgeous.

I wish I could say it had some extraordinary meaning, but it really is just a little joke/endearment from my hubbie. It stuck and now it is an integral part of my psyche.

I am all that is Fru because the older I get the more fru-like I am in my husbands eyes. (I will keep on assuming it's a good thing since there is usually laughter and kisses involved.)

she is the nunge

except it's not so endearing...since nunge is what she's called when she's being less than happy...

ex: stop being a nunge, no more crying...sad part is she responds to it.... LOL

Tell her the whole story! Foozball, sound effects, and all! Stop holding out.

Yes Nat, I know the story, but I'll let Fru tell it.

And she was blown away with it! The first thing she said was something about the great skin tones. The next thing she said was about those eyes. She said this was a gorgeous photo of a gorgeous girl.

I plugged the D70 and told her about how great the colors, skin tones, saturation, etc. was, and that Nikon had make quantum leaps with this camera. So the D70 got plugged this morning.

No, I'm not getting one (yet), but this is the second plug the D70 has gotten.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then pat yourself on the back for being an awesome Nikon sales rep!

That's too funny! We call our daughter Chickenbone (amoung other equally flattering names) . And if she would eat better we may start calling her Turkey Leg. And she answers to that better than her name. Aren't they funny. Little bugs that crawl right into your heart even when they are standing on the last nerve you have left.

The Foozball was for Frujitsu...LOL! (Did I ever mention my husband and I are very big on nicknames...I don't think in the 10 years we've been together he's called me by my given name more than a handful of times.)

Yes we can! And it's unbearable! My God man, come to your senses! Send the 10D back! Have you seen the colors, saturation, and skin tones that the D70 produces? Egads!

Plead temporary insanity, send the 10D back, and buy the D70!

That's a lovely photograph of a beautiful child. Very nicely done!

For my shot below, my D70 was a couple hours out of the box and I just set the thing on full Auto and fired. Of all the things I've seen so far regarding this camera, the skin tones seem to exemplify the realism clarity that make it stand out from so many others.

I'm not ready to write my own review yet, but I'm stunned so far by this camera and don't expect my eventual review to be any different from the usual raves.

Best regards,

James
