I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the new 40D but I have one last question that I can't seem to figure out. This will be my first dslr but I have an older EOS A2E that I have been using for the past 13 years. I have gone through several point and shoots but have been waiting for something in the range of the 40D to come along before I upgraded.

My question is this, will I be able to use any of the new lens out there with my A2E? I am planning on getting a couple of new lenses when I purchase the D40 and I don't have any intentions of putting my older lenses on it. But I still enjoy shooting film and would rather carry 1 or 2 lenses for both bodies. I am anticipating getting use to the D40 and more than likely only carrying it around but I would like to have the added flexibility to shoot film when I feel nostalgic.
