Knight 08-21-2007, 05:18 PM Looks like you had a very good weekend OT , Love them all :) mn shutterbug 08-21-2007, 05:45 PM They sure don't appear as if they were taken at a zoo. In other words, you done a super job. mjs1973 08-21-2007, 06:01 PM I like them all Larry, but the expressions on the primates are priceless! I hope your grandson (Jack?) had a great time at the zoo. That is one place I never get tired of going to. Old Timer 08-21-2007, 06:44 PM Thanks guys. We had a great time. The grandson that I went with was Wesley and his uncle Jeff works at the zoo part time. Here is a picture of Wesley and his mother Emily along with her brother Jeff (aka; Dodger). Bevb 08-21-2007, 11:29 PM Terrific series OT, love the monkeys though, priceless. Old Timer 08-22-2007, 05:18 AM Terrific series OT, love the monkeys though, priceless. Here is another just for you Bevb. It was dark and I had to crank up the ISO so quality is not what I'd like. Loupey 08-22-2007, 07:59 AM I like the fishy! Your grandson doesn't seem fooled by the costume :) Old Timer 08-22-2007, 05:38 PM Thanks Loupey. Wesley did get to see uncle Jeff put on the costume (complete with cold packs every where) so he may not have been too fooled. And yes I did invade your territory. Hope you don't mind. I had such a good time I can guarantee I'll be back to the Columbus zoo very soon. starriderrick 08-22-2007, 06:16 PM I like the fishy! Your grandson doesn't seem fooled by the costume :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good eye Loupey ! Hahaha. I agree...:p :D :p :D :p Larry,Great shots all.Good times, as usual (Nice work.) Thanks for sharing O.T. The monkey / gorilla pics are loaded with priceless expressions  You, that D200 are working in harmony. With regards, Rick Bevb 08-23-2007, 02:55 AM Here is another just for you Bevb. It was dark and I had to crank up the ISO so quality is not what I'd like. Thanks OT! he's magnificent, the power this animal has is quite scary!..... amazing. Loupey 08-26-2007, 06:18 AM And yes I did invade your territory. Hope you don't mind. I had such a good time I can guarantee I'll be back to the Columbus zoo very soon. Why would I mind? In fact, the next time you visit, let me know - I'd love to walk it with you (I live about 5 miles away from there). I can also take you to my local parks and ponds nearby. That invitation is open to any other active members here. As you undoubtedly saw, the zoo made a major land acquisition recently and is currently making some heavy-duty renovations. Should be a world-class zoo within a year or two. paulnj 08-26-2007, 02:22 PM Great images Larry. I especially love the primates and otter. Old Timer 08-26-2007, 02:44 PM Great images Larry. I especially love the primates and otter. Thanks Paul very good to hear from you. I agree, I could have spent all day with the primates. Old Timer 08-26-2007, 02:53 PM Very kind invitation Loupey. I look forward to taking you up on it. My son lives in the Hilliard area. He has a family pass and they try and go to the zoo as often as possible. My next trip is to Texas so it will be a few week before I come north again, but I hope we can meet sometime soon. paulnj 08-26-2007, 03:04 PM Between vacation, work, my ever growing gecko collection(100?) and life...... time is limited. My geckos have stopped laying eggs, so maybe in a month or so I can find time to take images again? WesternGuy 08-26-2007, 05:56 PM Great images OT. I particularly like the look on the orangutan's (sp?) face. Reminds me that I should get down to our local zoo soon. They just had a baby elephant born there a few weeks ago. It isn't out and about yet, but there are lots of other things to see. Cheers, WesternGuy Old Timer 08-26-2007, 06:36 PM Zoos are a great place to get some very interesting pics of animals that would be impossible for most of us to ever get in the wild. If you are patient and selective with your framing and cropping it's not terribly obvious that they are in captivity. Sometimes though it is just very hard to resist those shoots that are obviously done in zoos. |
