What does "US Web-coated SWOP" mean and ow do I save a TFF file this way?

US Web-coated SWOP is a generic CYMK icc color profile. In Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and InDesign the default working space for CYMK is US Web Coated (SWOP). SWOP stands for Specifications for Web Offset Publications.

To set an image to SWOP, go to Edit> Convert to Profile. You'll find US Web-coated SWOPv2 (or some such) among the choices in the drop-down menu. Better yet, if you're going to be doing a lot of work like this, then go to Edit> Color Settings. Set the CYMK setting to SWOP, if it isn't already. Then when you go to save, you can simply use Image> Mode> CYMK

Basically speaking, if you do work for a client, want the image to be in CYMK, and don't know your client's exact CYMK color profile for whatever device they're printing with, then you use a generic profile. In fact, you use SWOP.
