It's official, the announcements have been made. They're all posted on the News and Rumors forum. No more arguments from me about when and what. Although I am surprised, Canon really has announced a 21-megapixel replacement for the EOS-1Ds Mark II. There are also new A-Series digital cameras, new Digital ELPH cameras, the PowerShot G9 (w. RAW capability), a new "ultra-zoom," and new printers, and lenses.

21 megapixels...christ, you're gonna need a fast processor, a lot of ram, and a LOT of hard drive space to work with that camera.

Sweet, 21 Megapixels. Now we'll be able to hang our prints from billboards on the side of the freeway!

That's the way it goes. But ask yourself if the 30D is going to limit you in any way. I doubt it. Remember that I encouraged you to get an XTi/400D because I think it's a better camera for 95% of the photographers out there. I think the 30D will serve you well. The 40D might be newer and have some cool features. But they aren't really features that you, as a learning photographer, really need. Be happy with your 30D and don't worry about it until it starts getting in the way of taking pictures. Until then, it's an awesome camera.

Thx for replying so fast, yah i guess my coming 30D will be no doubt a good cam for me ... and for why i didnt chosed the 400D over it is just simple (i dont know if i mentioned it before) but my bro have it (400D) with the Sigma AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC and the 430EX speedlite and the BG-E3,so its usless to get the same one and i think that the 30D is a little bit better from my point of view.
