hello. could anyone suggest the best quality night vision function on a video camera. Am currently thinking Sony A1. can anyone suggest otherwise?

Not a normal topic of conversation. Will you be using the on camera capability, or using an external IR light source? The incamera lights are usually just a small LED that's good for about 3-7 feet max. For anything better, you'll need to look for some type of aftermarket emitter. I haven't ever needed one, so I can't point you in the right direction.
