I am going to be doing a little purchasing soon ,but Im not quite sure what is good and what is not for what Im looking for....
I shoot everything from Motorsports to portrait to commercial businesses and I an wanting to invest in some lensesthat can be useful for everything I do.
I have my sport lense,my 580ex flash( one lense) but now could use a wide angle, portait lense, fisheye and a macro.
after the end of theyear, I wll want to buy an extra camera as well but I can only buy one thing at a time . lol
Can you Canon photographers give me just a few of your opinions on whats avail.
Also, how are the Tamron lenses ? I would like something with a good AF speed if its affordable . I like the AF modes for the sport shots.
I have very little faith in my local storeslately as they seem to not know alot about the lense questions.
I shoot with a rebel XT .
Thanks!

I was able to do a lttle reading today and decided to start off with purchasing the EF 50mm F/1.8 II .
Any reccomendations on a fish eye?
I would use it for commercial and Motorsport events.

for a cheap fisheye, with pretty good quality, check out the MC Zenitar lens. It's a manual focus, but it's gonna run you a heck of a lot less than the canon or sigma brand. i got mine for 150 brand new.

Thanks for the reply!
I know very little about fisheyes, but it would be used alot for Motorsports.
I use my AF alot ,is this lens you refer to somewhat fast?
I would use it alot for Motorcross shots when airin out and cool berm angles..

as i said, it's manual focus, so its not fast in the focus sense, but in the aperture, yes f/2.8. The thing about 16mm is that focus is not as important because you have such a wide DOF. I mean, you still want to get it right, but it's not as crucial as shooting with a 300mm lens. But maybe the MF will help you with focusing?
