Hi folks! I've been hanging out at particular car forum lately and inadvertently started a "Photogathering thread" there. The trick is that the Photograthering has to involve 4x4 off-roading and photography. An important note is that we are not looking to take pictures of our cars and mountain backdrops.....we can do that anywhere.

We just want to take unpaved roads to get to a great photography subject(s).

Any recommendations??

Thanks.

How far away is too far? I'd say go up to Bishop. There are all kinds of dirt roads out there and great scenery.

Meh, I say all the Ohio members should go to the Clifton Gorge.

That would be so awesome its not even funny.

I wish the world were a bit smaller so I can just drive to all those nice places.

"too far" for me is having to sleep at the location. We do two hour drives to san diego and come back. I'm sure I could do Santa Barbara and come back the same day. My upcoming photography will mostly be of OHV parks in the area (desert valleys and angeles forrest). I didn't realize there were so many OHV places around here.

I'll research bishop...thanks :)

Eric, Jawbone Canyon up on the 14 past the town of Mojave has an OHV area. It's just less than a 2 hour drive from Reseda. I don't know if 4x4s go out there but I have seen lots of motorcycles and dune buggies parked around the little store right off the highway. Might be worth checking out.

I did a search on "jawbone" in the other forum and it looks like people have gone there with their 4x4s. Based on a couple of pictures on the thread....it looks really nice. I'll read up on it more.

Any OHV areas in your neck of the woods?

Thanks Ray.
