Nice work, I don't do any portrait style shots so I have no hardcore C&C for you..

Good job the lighting looks good to me.

Thank you for the comments!

Sunset on the beach is a great time of day. But, I discovered that you have to watch that the skin tones don't get too red (too warm), and you have to be careful that the ocean/sky don't give the image tones that are too blue (too cool) . I got some of both!

That is called the magic light Speed. Long exposures after running a custom white balance under the lighting conditions. It gives a really cool look to the skin tones. I've even run a slow shutter speed fill flash just for fun with the warming filter on the SB800 just for a comparison shot, it comes out pretty cool. I haven't done one with the D200 yet, but may be trying some time after June 4 when I can breathe again

Cool, er I mean warm shots.

Nice going Speed. It's about time you posted some more of Dawn. We haven't had our fix in way to long. (Without others cluttering up things.) Really looks like you guys had a very relaxed time.

Exactly, which is why we went down on the beach when we did.

I did take a few flash shots, for comparison (just like you did!) I guess great minds think alike.

Thanks for the comments buddy!
