Well this weekend was the PCLL (Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League) tournament. I was hired by the commissioner to shoot the entire tournament. It was quite tiring, but I enjoyed doing it. Here are some images from the weekend, a couple from each game. The weather was nothing but overcast for all but 1 game, but it helped with the shadows and color. I just need a 300 or 400 f/2.8. the 70-200 with a 1.4x isn't cutting it, and the crappy bokeh really hurts the shots IMO.

Game 1) UNH v. Northeastern: They matched up again for the second week in a row, and the outcome was only slightly different than last weekend, and that was that UNH actually scored this time. final score of 21-3

This image basically sums up the entire game. Not a very exciting game for the UNH offense.

just a fun photo. This ref got a little more action than he was probably expecting

Game 2) BU v. BC: another game of pure domination. BC came out strong and never really let up, showing why they are one of the best teams in the league. They won 14-2.

these images are from a hit that came very late in the game, with BC already up by a lot. A BU attackmen grabbed the ball behind the net and after scooping it up, was rocked by a BC defender. unfortunately I was the slightest bit too late with the shutter, half in shock of the unnecessary aggression.

The BU attackmen, after spending a few minutes on his knees, got up without injury.

Game 3) Framingham v. New Haven: One of the poorest played games of the weekend, most of the time the ball was on the ground. It was a bit like watching one of my old high school games. But nonetheless, Framingam won it 14-8 and advanced to the final.

already been posted here, but I wanted to add it to the series.

A New Haven shortstick keeps his eye on the ball as Framingham's offense clears the ball down the field.

Game 4) Maine v. Salem State: The offense of Salem State was really a force to be reckoned with, and Maine just couldn't compete. The cohesion of the attack and midfield was very fun to watch, and the Salem State offense seemed to run circles around Maine. They advanced with a 10-2 win.

In an effort to clear the ball, a Salem player gets tripped up and hits the ground. Hard.

Game 5) Salem State v. Framingham: Salem State came out very strong and after getting a little scare from a Framingham run, they regained their composure and continued with their strong offensive plays. The Vikings took the Div B title with a 15-10 win.

A Salem State defender pushes with all his might to keep Framingham at bay. Probably one of my favorite images from the weekend.

The Salem State goalie keeps an eye on the ball as it flies towards him.

Game 6) BC v. BU: Probably one of the most intense lacrosse games I have ever seen. I only wish I didn't have to photograph it because it was such a good game. The score was back and forth the entire game, and both of the teams played amazingly. The defense, offense, and goaltending were all extraordinary. With a score of 1-1 at half, the benches went wild every time their team scored. The most a team was ahead at any given time was just 2 goals. With less than 30 seconds left on the clock, Northeastern had the ball on their offensive end with the score tied. They attempted to run the clock but turned it over. With less than 10 seconds left, BC called a time-out with possession. With a drive towards the top of the box, an BC's Matt Johnson ripped a shot with 3 seconds left, and it found its way into the goal. Final score 6-5.

Thats the best writeup I've seen here in a while!

Great images, and looks like you had a blast shooting the event & writing the story.

Some things never change - I was shooting some youth baseball the other day, and I got a shot of the outfielder sitting down during the game as well. Your first shot reminded me of it.
