hello all. i'm planning a trip to the himalayas and have my eye on the nikon coolpix s10. it's small, lightweight, and has a ton of features. i think it will make a great camera for this trip.
my one concern however is this: what is the shelf life of a fully charged EN-EL5 battery? i won't have the opportunity to charge batteries while i'm climbing mountains, and i sure don't want to get stuck without a camera at 18,000+ feet! if i charge before i leave for my trip, can i expect the batteries to hold a useful charge for about 3 weeks?
is there an alternative to the rechargeable battery? i've seen the duracell CP1, but i'm not sure what kind of power it delivers.
any help is very much appreciated.
thank you in advance.
