Hi I went to Burma recently and was wondering what you guys thought..
This one is probably the best of the lot, sadly I only had a 5mp casio Point and shoot at the time :(

You should get a better camera if your going to travel to exotic destinations. Keep shooting. How was the food?

A little soft, but the major problem with the shot is that everyone is walking/facing away from you. Maybe they don't like foreigners in Burma? Maybe that fellow in the foreground is preparing his pot to cook you in it? :D

If the person's in white elbow wasn't blocking the monks face, it would help a lot.
Taking crowd pics is difficult because you never know when the moment is going to be right. I know as I struggle with it regularly. Best thing is to watch a lot and shoot more.
A better camera wouldn't have made this better or worse.

pympster,,,street photography whether in Myanmar,Melbourne or your local mall is the same..What is important is to isolate an interesting subject by the use of DOF or pick an interesting looking face and concerntrate on him/her..This can be done by zooming or moving in on your subject..backs of heads are a definite no-no unless it is done creatively..
In this image there appears to be no centre of interest but the scene has potential..One element I would have concerntrated on is the woman service the monk his daily alms..I would have gotten infront of the two so their faces would have been in full view, shot at a large aperture to isolate this subject by blurring the background..The trick is not to be shy at the same time not to be too instrusive..

BTW,,you did spell "Myanmar" correctly..
