Hi there
I have just took delivery of my new F31fd and looking to buy a memory card for it, what is the difference between H - type or M - type memory cards do they both do the same thing or is one better than the other. Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers Willie.

Willie,

Welcome to Photography Review. The M cards are available from Fuji in sizes from 256Mb to 2Gb and the H (what Fuji calls Standard as well) are available in 1Gb and 2Gb sizes.

Fuji makes notes about use of the M type in recording and re-recording movies in their manuals. Slightly different re-write format that may require more frequent formating under certain types of usage. There is indication that the flash core is similar with the M to SD type but of course not compatible.

There are some load and reload feature with the two cards that are dependent upon the separate reader should you use one.

A card reader that reads the old SmartMedia/xD formats should read both cards without any problem.

Does this help?

I just finished reviewing this camera for PR so your post caught my eye. Fuji graciously supplied a 'M' type card for review purposes.

Please post your thoughts in the review section as we need more reviews of this camera. I would also be interested to know what led you to decide on this camera?

Again, welcome to PR, post pics, and join the fun!
