Copy_Kot 02-07-2007, 11:01 PM Very nice pelican! Jaedon 02-08-2007, 04:42 AM If that shot is with the "Bigma" boy do I have some learning to do to get my shots that pretty. Awesome shot Lava. Perfectly framed. paulnj 02-08-2007, 06:29 AM Nice indeed! The "bigma" is the Sigma 300-800 everyone  OBie 02-08-2007, 09:41 AM Great shot. Love the blue sky. Bevb 02-08-2007, 11:20 AM Great detail, and contrast in colours spot on. AmberC 02-08-2007, 12:34 PM That is beautiful!! Lava Lamp 02-08-2007, 02:05 PM Thanks for all the comments. I took this shot with a Nikon 28-70mm AF-S at the 70mm end. I was lucky that the pelican was pretty accustomed to humans and let me get pretty close before he took off. He was maybe 15 feet away. The shot is cropped a little. The Sigma 50-500mm lens (Bigma) is nice, but the Nikon is better -- you just have to be a whole lot closer. OBie 02-08-2007, 04:17 PM I'm curious - were you shooting in manual? The exposure is so perfect. Lava Lamp 02-11-2007, 09:12 PM I'm curious - were you shooting in manual? The exposure is so perfect. Spot metered on Mr. P. Other than that it was set on "Program" with my D50. I almost never use that setting, but I was trying it that day... Speed 02-12-2007, 03:44 PM Yesterday...
