Something that's been hanging around for a year.

The photo seems unrealistic because of a halo around the tree.

Technically the white on the stone is overpowering the picture and needs to be burnt in a it to dull it down. The tree was overworked with a dodge tool or something showing an obvious halo around it. It almost looks like it was pasted in from another picture.

Asthetically - for me the stones are too close and overpower the image and makes the tree pale into insignificance in the image even though it jumps up and bites you because of the colour. All in all the two make the photo unbalanced and I would suggest cropping a section of sky out of the photo so that the top is an 1" above the tree. I would also tone down the colour of the tree and even consider B&W for this photo.

Sorry for ripping this apart but can't figure out a way to soften the blow.

Ronnocco is that you? :)
Well the tree is neither pasted or worked in any manner. I adjusted saturation, contrast, and sharpness. The original seems to have a bit of a "halo" around the tree also. I guess I didn't exactly know why this image was in my semi trash pile, but you've seemed to sum it up nicely.

The lone tree is a good subject, and Roger made some good points about the foreground elements. they are too over powering, and even burning them in might not help too much.

:cryin: That's why I apologised, I re-wrote it twice before giving up and apologising.:( I couldn't find a way of softening it any more.:D
