I like the photo, but it seems like it could benefit from some straightening of the horizon. You could try levelling the roof of the distant house, the ground in front of it, or even the fence wire.

Thanks for your comments R/S. The image is straight, it was taken on top of a rolling hill giving it that look. If there is one thing that I have learnt since I've been on this site... it is to make sure my images are straight before I post them, lol.

Maybe this isnt cc but what i would have done is frame the shot so the poll was on the left side of the shot so it would have hid the shadow. The shadow doesnt kill the shot but I think it would look better in my opinion

I assume that when you post a pic with a frame your allowed to critique the frame as well.

The pic is fine and it speaks of loneliness, cold, and the fight for survival.

The frame - I don't like the way the inner frame dies off in the top left. It would look better if it was the same all around. IMHO.

Roger, I think you are right about the frame. I've only had CS2 for a few weeks now, it will take me a little while to figure things like that out.
