Hello all. I am selling my Sigma 55-200mm f4-5.6 for nikon AF D and a person had asked if it would fit their Nikon D40. I've done some research and I do not think that it will. I wanted some opions to see if I am correct. Please advise. Thanks All :)

I meant to say that I believe it will, but the AUTOFOCUS will not work and has to be manually focused.

Well, The D40 uses the F-Mount (As do all other Nikon Cameras).

So it should work. Does he live near you? You could always take it over and try.

Yes you can manual focus, but I'm not sure about the metering. The D40 can only autofocus with AF-S lenses.
