View Full Version : Toys in Value Village Don Schaeffer 11-30-2006, 08:36 PM http://www.shuttertalk.com/forums/images/upload/losttoysSM.jpg MB1 12-01-2006, 10:30 AM Nope. Too contrasty, nasty background, looks a bit oversaturated and a bit dark. Plus it feels like the whole thing is leaning to the viewers left. OTOH it is an idea that you could spend a lot time fooling with. I'm thinking just shoot one or 2 toys at a time and put a sheet of colored paper (or a grey card) behind them to improve the background and to reduce the tonal range. jbaldocchi 12-01-2006, 03:24 PM Hi Don, This is a subject matter I like playing with. I think the trick is to find them in interesting positions. These look like they are in a police line-up. I think the wooden soldier on the right is the bank robber! Jim B. Don Schaeffer 12-02-2006, 12:28 PM Thanks MB and Jim: It's a grab shot while I was walking in Value Village (the Canadian Diabetes store). The lighting was crap but it added to a kind of grim atmosphere. I did some processing on it to eliminate something behind the toys. |
