Hi all,

I used to be a Canon IXUS 400 user and i've decided to ugrade.
while the IXUS is compact, the pictures I found were flat and lifeless.

I want to be able to get close to SLR photography, but without losing a moviie mode so at the moment the Canon s3 fits the bill best.

Just wondering tho..
WIll canon ever create a camera that has mpeg compression. 640x480 30fps @ 20mb per 10secs is way too big. I use video mode a lot and without some compression videos would fill my hard drive up too quickly!

Just wondeing if someone could do some sample vids and post up 10 secs of:

- 320x240 30fps 10secs
- 640x480 15fps 10 secs

This is just so I can get an idea of the quility at these resolutions and the sizes.

My ixus did terribly 320x240 video but hoping the s3 would be better at 320x240?

any input or thougths appreciated!

Also are there any reommendations for similar cameras that have better movie mode compression?
