I broke the hot shoe on my DREBEL like three weeks ago. Fortunately, I bought the warranty from Best Buy. I turned it in and they said they would fix it and replace the ruber eye piece that fell off. I was hoping to get store credit instead and get the XTi but it didn't happen.

Anyway, they UPS'ed it back to me today and it's fixed but I don't think it is the same camera that I turned in. Scratches are not were I remember them to be. This one appears to be just as good or just as bad as my original....so I don't really care. I'll shoot 1GIG just to test.

Anyway, I was wondering how you check how many times the shutter has been used on the camera. You can do that right? I don't even know how to do it on the 30D either.

Thanks in advance....

Have you checked the serial number against your documentation?

I'll check but I don't know if I have the original Canon reg card. I bought the unit from a display to save a few bucks right after the XT first came out.

Do you know about how to check the number of shutter releases on a DSLR?

Thanks.

there are a couple programs on the web that allow you to check the number of actuations. If you've never formatted your card you can tell that way, i believe. I don't know if the drebel has anything for it though.
