ok

so i have a canon 1d, 2nd hand off of ebay.

i am trying to adjust the settings so that i can use the AF assist beam from my external flash .
it is currently set to off.

...

so someone tells me, i need to hook it up to my computer and use the program to adjust the settings.

so i try going onto the canon site and dl the appropriate software.

when i attempt to install, i get a message saying "files to be installed not updated"

i run a mac.

thats the only message i get, then nothing else.

any help out there?

what can i do!?, this is quite frustrating.

Hi James,

I don't use a mac but I am guessing the file your getting isn't mac friendly. Contact Canon support and they will help you out :)
