I finally got out today and shot some images, and hiked alittle bit. Its so green in PA i love it! and theres so much life that i never payed much attantion to shooting before i was in UTAH.

so heres 2

pickeral frog i found hopping in and aroudn slippery rock creek.

both are cropped to eliminate blown out parts of the background. both were taken at McConnells' mill state park about an hour north of Pittsburgh.

Those caterpillars look like the UK Tussock Moth, only brighter and even more like walking toothbrushes - well done getting two of them.

That is a great image of the caterpillars! I saw a lot of them in Vermont the other day but couldn't get a good picture of one... do you have any idea what they might be, I mean what kind of butterfly or moth?

Nice "mirror" shot of the caterpillar. I got one this afternoon as well but with not so much "hair".

thanks for the comments guys. i;m not sure what species it is.

i was worried the parts still left in this crop were still to blown out. it was really hard to get this angle however with the caterpillars mirrored and not bumpign in to the stem of the plant, so no flash... i couldn't even see the view finder so i just snapped and adhusted.

its called a milkweed tiger moth, and the lava is harlequin caterpillar.

That's a cool catapillar, I haven't seen one of them in years.
