I love it. What I like the most are the catchlights in the eyes. The only thing I would have done differently is to not crop it so tightly. But then I make the same mistake too somtimes so maybe I would have shot it like this too. Good pic.

Very nice. The crop is a tad bit tight, but not too bad... the good thing is that it forces one to look at the people and not be distracted by the background. I think the woman's eyes make the photo here. The only thing that slightly bothers me is that her arm and the baby's seem to be a little overexposed in comparison to the rest of the photo: perhaps this is because she is wearing black and the background is somewhat dark also. Overall, a very successful shot and one that I think the mom will really like.

Lol thank you GB. I am the Mum and yes I do love this image.

It's not the original crop. But like you so rightly pointed out, I got rid of the distractions.
As for their skin, unfortunately both my daughters are very very fair skinned.
So I actually gave it a warm photo filter in PS.

Nice, I like them looking in different ways.
The crop is tight, but it's not too tight for me.
And again, you've got the eyes right.

That's not Gina is it? I think it's your eldest but I can't remember her name :blush2:
And oh um, not Wesley, er, Trinity?

Yes it's Gina and Trinity.
Sam is my eldest daughter. Gina is my number 2.

You have a lot of kids there. Great shots of everyone. This shot is the best though.

Hi Alison,,,I like it a lot...It is as sharp as a tack,,,50mm 1.8?? IMHO the crop is good and the background nicely out of focus..I like the way Gina and Trinity are looking in opposite directions,,most this doesn't work but works here fine...Lighting is great and even and I love the large catch lights in Gina's eyes..

Now for the cons,,,It appears to me Gina is either flustered or hot by the look of her face skin tone...Her arm is also a tad bright,,,could just be her natural skin colouring...
Now Alison I'm going to really nit-pick this image...There is a bright out of focus spot where Gina's hair meets Trinity's,,right in the junction...I would have cloned it out..

Improving??You are blowing them away!!!

Yes 50mm 1.8
Aha yeah I can see the white spot through the trees that you are talking about.
I hadn't even noticed that.
Thank you for the compliments.

I think I would like this shot in b&w just because it kind of sets a tone to it
