The first one was posted in the Critique forum recently. First one with tubes, the other three with the 2x.

They are all super but the third one is outstanding. Next purchase is a TC to go with the tubes. May just come in handy for the sports shots too. Very nice images as usual.

Well, that answered my next question, about how a TC would compare to a tube. Great shots.

The lenses you are using are 1:4 macro?

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and commenting.

Perhaps later today I will post w-i-d-e shots showing the park that most of my images are coming from. I think you may be surprised how small it is.

Payn: the 300mm by itself will produce 0.24x images at 4.9'. The 2x TC enables me to get 0.47x at 4.9'. So I use tubes for subjects under 4.9' and TC for subjects over 4.9'. I have yet to try both tubes and TC simultaneously. That second shot was taken on a very breezy evening at about 12' out.

OT: I would think the TC's would come in very handy for you and other sports shooters for that occasional tight shot but don't want to lug another 4 pound lens around :)

To say nothing about the difference in price of a 4 pound lens and a TC.
