View Full Version : The Night Shift
Alison 07-01-2006, 04:07 PM Ok here it is Loupey. My first attempt at wildlife.
Two of my daughter's discovered a hedgehog only about an hour ago.
So out came my camera with my 50mm 1.8 lens attached (naturally :D ), my 430EX speedlite and diffuser.
I was pretty pleased with the results.
Info:
1st image: I was about 5ft away from the hedgehog, Manual Mode, ISO 400, f/1.8, SS 1/60
2nd image: I was about 3ft away from the hedgehog. Manual Mode, ISO 400, f/6.3, SS 1/60
flowremix 07-01-2006, 05:05 PM whoa. Those are cool shots with a 50mm. I would think you would scare it off. I like the 2nd picture...even though it(the hedgehog) looks kinda gross.
paulnj 07-01-2006, 06:45 PM Hey now, I had one as a pet years ago..they are cute
Great images Alison, but where is the image of your daughter I am used to seeing you post..
Loupey 07-01-2006, 07:03 PM Great images Alison, but where is the image of your daughter I am used to seeing you post..
I think she's got more than one :p
Great seeing you here. Hope you'll pick up another favorite subject or two to shoot. Gotta let you know that when it come to shooting portraits (of people) you shoot circles around me. Hope we can return the favor with friendly tips and advice. Be forewarned though, we have one crazy moderator lurking around in this neck of the woods.
paulnj 07-01-2006, 07:10 PM Oh come on... Let her find out for herself :D
OK, I like to have fun, but Loupey is the crazy one crawling in the weeds looking for bugs
That's it, no featured photo for loupey until he says he's sorry

Yeah, I think I got chiggers going on right now :(
As for the other part, you say it first :p
paulnj 07-01-2006, 07:39 PM Dude, I got chiggers real bad once!!! I am talking from my ankles to my belly button :(
Use clear nail polish on every single one of the dots.... it smothers them and they die! Chigger rid meds do the same, but have a anti itch med in them.
Sorry crazy chigger man

Loupeys right Paul. Which daughter would that be? I have 7! :D
Thank you for the nice welcome.
paulnj 07-02-2006, 05:52 AM 7!! Wow, How do you find time to shoot? dinner, laundry, school stuff, shopping... yikes. It is great to know that you obviously love children and that's 7 more attractive people in the world
That might explain how in some images I've seen the ages look different
Alison 07-02-2006, 06:59 AM Paul ... especially for you http://forums.photographyreview.com/showthread.php?p=145502#post145502
payn817 07-02-2006, 02:17 PM Alright Alison! You can't be good at all subjects. You took portraiture, leave something for everyone else. :D
J/k, nice shots.
