Having another practice with the camera and settings i noticed a goldfinch in the tree at the end of the garden i thought he may come towards me to the feeder, and he did, so i got this shot, not the sharpest, i think one problem is its because they have a red mask over their faces, you cant seem to get a sharp face.
The bee was on the daisy and decided to go, again not the best shot but one thing i am pleased with on 1D MkllN is the speed! or just my timing was right this time.

Love the wing coloration on your goldfinch. It looks like some kind of South American idol. Great angle to show it.
I like the bee one too. The composition makes it look like shes finished with it or snubbing her nose to it :p

The first one, it may be above the centre focus point.
Seems to me the focus points on the 1D are smaller, better aligned to the LED markers in the viewfinder.

Bev, have you tried activating all the focus sensors for flight images? I find it to help a great deal for flight images.

Just be careful with all sensors active because a busy sceen will fool the camera at times and it will focus on the wrong subject. Also have you tried AI SERVO too ;)
