This is a portrait I took a few years back. I don't really know whether it is good or not. I like it but I would rather have some other opinions than my own.

I like this picture of your friend. The portrait would have been even better though if you had sharper focus on his eyes than on the tip of his nose and chin. Once I noticed it I couldn't stop looking at the details of his beard.

Thanks for the critique CLKunst. I really do appreciate having someone else look at my photos. You are right about the focus. Maybe there is something in Photoshop that I can do to bring the eyes out a bit.

Agree about the focus, though the detail and sharpness on the beard/goatee (whatever they call it nowadays!) is awesome. The black and white is a great touch. I'll admit, I find portraits quite boring (nine times out of ten it's all about the subject's facial expression) but this one works for me in a mysterious way.
