Hello All,

I noticed when you set the d70 to shoot 3 frames a second two things happen.

First you can only do continuous shooting n sports mode (is that true).

Second the auto flash turns off. Is there any way to use the pop up flash and continuous shooting together?

Hi pep...On my Coolpix 8400, there is no way to use the built in on continuous, mainly because the flash can't cycle that fast. It may be different with D70.

You can shoot continuous at 3fps in Program, Shutter priority, Aperture Priority, and manual exposure modes (p/s/a/m) provided your shutter speed is high enough to allow 3 per second.
There is almost no point- you max out the power of the built in flash very quickly at short range. The flash is not meant for that kind of repetitive shooting for 3fps bursts, especially at full power.
Look into an external flash like the SB-600 or SB-800...but get out of those auto modes first!

No standard Flash made can cycle at 3 frames per second that I know off. Flash is a power hunger item. I've used the continuous mode out of the programed mode. My D70 mostly is set in the Aperture or shutter priority mode.

I have used the D70 and the SB800 in contiuous mode together, but only in manuel on both and shooting a 1/8 or 1/16 power on the flash. Depending on the batteries in the batteries in the flash I can get 3 of 4 frames that at fairly well exposed.
