Wow i'm so excited right now. I have been waiting and saving up for this for a year as I am 16. I ordered the D70s with 18-70, Sandisk extreme III 2gb card, and a Slik pro 400 dx tripod. Just had to get that out lol. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.:D  :) :p

You'll have a ball with that setup. I've had my d70 for a couple of years now this spring and I still love it. From every thing I hear the D70s has a few advantages of the D70. The kit lens is very nice little piece of glass. You shouldn't have any problems with it. Have fun and post some of those first shots.

how on earth do ou afford a d70 at the age of 16? let alone the other stuff. I was running arround with a third hand Zennith at 16, and that took ages to save up for

The only way I could afford this camera was pracitcally spending nothing and saving for a year. Here are some of the first pictures out of it. I love how I can pretty much use any ISO worry free. And the control i get is amazing just in general with aperture shutter whitebalance etc.

get yourself a grey card... the D70 is very good at white balancing itself, on the flywith one of these! cost - about £10.00

For now I have been just using a pad of white paper for setting the white balance. I don't know If it would make a difference between the pad and the grey card. I know that using the custom white balance made a big difference already.

you ought to invest in the proper grey card, it does make a big difference
