Hey.

for those of you that helped me in trying to look for a fisheye lens I was discouraged to find out that the only real 4/3 mount lens that would fit my camera is the zuiko 8mm fisheye lens thats going for about 1000$ in canada. so I'm just wondering if ther is any new news about the four thirds system. I know that the other option is to get a russian peleng with a OM mount and have an OM to fourthirds adapter but I'm wondering if the russian companys have introduced any four thirds mounts that are compatible with their lenses. (from what I understand they just have the lens and whatever mount for the camera you have screws into the bottom of the lens) if anyone has any info that would be great I hope the four thirds catches on quickly.:)

I'll be meeting with Olympus at PMA. But since they already have a fisheye, I doubt they'll have another one. There are other companies that are supposed to be involved with the Four Thirds System. But so far, none of them have produced anything. What you want is for one of the big third-party lens manufacturers, like Sigma, Tamron, or Tokina, to start making lenses to fit the Four Thirds SLRs. But since they're a completely different format, it's not likely. Four Thirds has some very real benefits. But one of the problems is the lack of available equipment options. If you really, really, really want a fisheye, I think you're just going to have to cough up and buy the Olympus. I wouldn't bet on another option anytime soon,
