Having had an OM2 for 25 years, I'm considering splashing out on the Nikon D50.

Two points please:-

Anything I should take into account in making my purchase - to be used for landscape and outside work (hobby).

How compatible is the D50 to Tamron lenses. I have a 28mm and an 80 - 210mm.

Thanks for any advice.

If there have nikon mounts, and are not AF. They will only work with the camera set to Manual, and you will need a light meter as the incamera metering will not work. I when thought this when I pruchased my D70. Note you have to set the ISO to anything other than auto before the camera will even fire the shutter with a manual lense.

Make sure you get the 17-70 DX zoom lense as in 35mm film it works out to a 28-112 equivalant. The 28 mm lense equivalant to a 35mm film noral lense on the D-50 or D-70.
