Found this shot the other day. Had been taking some pics of an old blast furnace and was getting ready to leave when I spotted this tree. I had seen shots done like this and just wanted to try my hand at it.

The start of the tree in the corner was a good choice, but i think it ends up a little too centered (from Mr. centered himself  ). Also, I am not sure about the b&w, perhaps with a deep blue sky and highly saturated brown and greens it would be stronger. just my $.02

Hard to say, but I'm thinking a shot of this nature always seems better when you've got several trees in the picture.

I think you have framed this well, and I find, for me, that the composition works. It does appear to be very gray and dull, and a levels adj. should improve.

I like this a lot. The greenish tone on the trunk is neat. Your composition seems just right for me and frankly, I do not see any tone issues with the picture on my monitor. I'd personally take this one straight like it is.

I find it too busy. Where do I look? My eye roves around going back to the base of the tree then up into the chaos of the branches with both "halves" (split by the diagonal formed byt the trunk) too even.
BUT maybe you wanted that feeling for your picture. It definitely is not boring.

I'm with Seb. The first couple of times I looked at this image, I felt dizzy and wasn't sure whether I liked it then I remembered: When I was a kid, I would hug trees and hold on tight so I could lean my head way back and look up and see what you've captured here. It was dizzying and so much fun!! I loved the texture of the bark and the smell of those old trees. And you've captured that moment beautifully!
