Hi. As you can see i new to this site. I’m also new to photography. I was reading a magazine that had an article about mirrored lenses. They talked about how easy it is to get nature/wildlife shots with a 500mm mirrored tele with a 2x adaptor. I was wondering if there is any way i can get this setup on my Nikon Coolpix 5700.

Welcome to the fourm. I'm not sure if you would be able to mount a large mirror lens you your Coolpix or not. I'm guessing no, but it's just a guess. No, that will not work. That adapter is for the lenses made for the Coolpix, not for attaching regular SLR lenses. I suggest you look at the Coolpix accessory lenses or do a searc for Digiscoping on Google.com, you wil get much better results attaching a scope to the camera than you will attaching a mirror lens.
