Another view (no pun) from the Brickworks.

Nice contrast and matting. I wish I could see more of the background above the brick area, which might be interesting enough for its own shot? The lighting is technically good but somewhat flat. Maybe if there were more shadows, it might have more mystery.

Hi Seb
I love all your brickwork photographs and this one would be no exception if only it was in colour. This factory/warehouse has subtle colours in abundance in every nook and cranny that you showed us so far.
This shot has excellent and interesting composition but I feel I cannot see it as it should be seen. IMO it's crying out to be converted back to colour.

Seb, I like this shot especially the framing and comp. I agree about the lighting sort of looking too uniform. . .as if there was a work light shining the area rather than the trickle of light falling in from cracks and openings. I also agree with Tom in that I may like this even more with the subtle colors of your previous works. This is good, Seb.

GB, Overbeyond, Gary, thanks for your support as always.

The ligthing in this was really even. There was a signigicant hole in the celling over that area so a lot of light came in. I agree that the effect isn't as dramatic as for some others shots from the series where beams of light would lighten specific areas, the rest remaining in darkness. On the other hand, I felt that the variety of tones in the bricks by themselves would somewhat compensate for this.

With the conversion for web displaying, the picture seems to have lost some of its contrast, my "original" is a little more vivid an moody than that. As for the colors, well I didn't enjoyed them here. I tried few tricks including some selective saturation and it always felt wrong to me. That being said. I'll post a color version so you can judge about this for yourselves.

regards

I agree with them, I love to see it also in coloured. Anyways, nice brickwork photograph and wonderful composition. Great job.

Yeah, the lighting and contrast are the only things that kind of leave me wanting on this one. But the comp is awesome!
