Very nice. Thanks for including the how to photos. One of the things I hope to do this year is learn better studio techniques. I'm afraid it will include more expenditures though.

Nice shots - Apple always has nice (official) product shots I've noticed. Good idea about using a background stand to hold a mono directly above.

Wow. 1 and 4 are my favorites. It is amazing what you can do with a nice simple set up!

Those are some great shots, 1 and 2 are excellent. Heck, they look like offical apple product shots. Clean, simple, to the point. Love 'em!

Thanks Alex. What light are you talking about? If it's the glow from the screen, that was just dragging the shutter. I fired the flash and used a slow shutter speed (0.6 second) to let the glow burn in. For it to work the room had to be totally dark or ambient light would have affected the exposure and the color. If you're asking about the softbox, no, that's a store bought item.

Thanks OT. You can relax though, you can get the same results with a P&S, a shoot-through reflector, some hot lights and some black posterboard to control light spill.

The hair grew back...? I dunno.

Funny that you commented on that though. That shot was taken by Trevor at Red Fish, my wonderful girlfriend threw me a surprise birthday party there earlier this month.

I really liked the first two, but all of them are really clean. Thanks for also showing everybody how you did the lighthing, and how one light can really do good stuff. Doing good sports and product photography seems to be natural for you.

Good work.

Thanks again for your help with the flash...

Loren

Thanks Loren, I appreciate it. :)

No problem on the flash. Just glad to be able to help anyone make sense of the damn thing.

Sigh...

Now you die.

Is there a way to just copy this over to the studio and lighting forum? I was actually going to send you an email asking about that.

Seriously though, you're so dead. For realz.

Did someone get some new toys for Christmas? :) I get busy for a couple of days and all sorts of fun posts appear. I'm getting paranoid.

Nice setup.

Actually, yes! But I bet you wouldn't have guessed what is new. :)

The only new items that made this possible are the superclamps I bought on Thursday. Everything else I've had for years.
