My first basketball game of this year was last Tuesday, but I was only able to shoot the first half because I had to travel for the holiday. The game was a blowout by the second half, but there was some good basketball as my college's team struggled to keep up.

*Yes, this picture is a little noisy. It is cropped down from a test print I made to test my new printer. I had to add the noise otherwise some spots were losing their detail when being printed.

I also had to take about five minutes to get a team picture of the dance team for this year's media guide. There wasn't a good spot to do it as it was a last minute addition, but this is what I ended up with.

There is a lesson to come out of all of this. I tried to shoot in RAW thinking that it would make better prints - instead I ended up having to fiddle with the settings so they didn't end up oversharpened with a massive noise problem. Never shoot sports in RAW if you don't have to!!

What software were using for the RAW? I use the DPP that came with the MKII N for RAW and it works great, even when adding a lot of sharpening.
I recently found something that may help the users of PS 7 and CS and when I get a chance I'll post it.

I haven't used the DPP that came with my camera. I've been using the RAW tool that comes with Photoshop CS2. I think I might install the DPP software that came with my camera and give that a shot. I haven't been too happy with the photoshop tool as of late.
