Tonight I had the oppertunity to shoot the Key Bank Tipoff Classic at the conseco Field house and game number three showcased the number 1 high school player in the nation, and Ohio State signee Greg Oden and teammate Mike Conley (who also signed with Ohio State).In the photos below Oden is number 50. Oden is listed as 7ft 1/2 inch tall and 255 lbs. All I can say is the "kid" is huge! But, as big as he is, he's one of the nicest people you could ever meet...well, until he gets on the basketball court, then he's all business!

Ok, both were taken with different cameras and lenses. Your choices: Canon 1D original and Canon 1D MKII N - which camera took which shot?
Lenses: Canon 28-300USM IS f3.5-5.6 and Canon 70-200 USM IS f2.8 - which lens for which shot?
Just curious if anyone can guess which was which.

i want to say original Id took the first shot just because of the improved white balancing on the N, and im guessing the f/3.5-5.6 on the 1d and the f/2.8 on the mkII N, just because I know if it were me, I would shoot with the better lens on the better body ;)

the first one's incorrectly focused though, it's focused on the other players in front of him...

on second thought.....
the first picture has much better DOF. Leading me to believe it's the 2.8. I've shot with a 3.5-5.6, and the DOF is pretty bad, and you're getting a sharper BG in the second shot. So maybe they are reversed. or MAYBE, since the mkII N handles low light better, you put the 2.8 on the original so that you could keep the ISO down, and the 3.5 on the mkII, since you knew it handled higher ISO's better. Now I just confused myself.

I don't know if you're doing any color correcting. But I think the first one was taken with the new camera. The second image has the green/cyan cast that I've come to expect from the 1D.

I thinks theeeeeeeeee, bottom one is taking with the 1D and the 28-300! and the top one with 1D MKII and the 70-200! it a wild guess, but I like the top one best. nice shots timming ehh

BTW, let me know if I win any prices for this...

yeah, the first one is much warmer, which leads me to believe its the 1d Mk II also.

OOPPPSSS, got so busy with football, and winning a state championship I forget which was which :( and now have to go back and look :eek:

I've looked at lots of EOS 1D photos - both my own and from other cameras. I noticed very early on that they all exhibited notable green/cyan color. I always add a little red and magenta to my 1D images.

I never really worried about it for the paper, and I don't think they do either as they still use the 1D. They are however getting one next year. I like the color on the MKII N, especially when using the 580EX, I rarely have to change the color using the flash.
