Well tonight was a BIG night!! First off the Jimtown Jimmies won their Semi-State game to go on to the State Finals next Friday night in the Class 2A game.
Then the Northwood Panthers knocked off Class 3A Number 1 Ranked Griffith 17-10. They are the first ever team to end the regular season at 3 - 6 and make it to the State Finals. They also keep the schools 28 Year Consecutive Winning Season streak alive!

The Northwood win was really big for me as I went to that school back in the 1970's. but they knocked off the NO1 team in their class, and with these two teams making the finals it gives Elkhart County Indiana 2 teams in the finals.

I'll be there taking pictures and getting to meet with old friends and coaches again...I can't wait!!!

Don't you just love it when the job and pleasure come together. Nice to be able to cover a game that you have a true interest in. Looking forward to some championship game pictures.

Yup, I do like that OT! But it gets better! Tonight the team I was shooting for the paper won their game and now their coaches final game before retiring is for the state championship in Class 1A! 39 years of coaching and he gets his second chance to win the championship (lost in the first try). No matter what happens he will always be a winner in his final home game though.

I know speaking for myself that is why I get so dang excited. My subjects are a part of my life. Their passion for the sport and wanting to win is my passion too. Hope that made sense.

Well after day #1 I am 1 - 1
Game #1 was the coaches final game and they lost 21-7. Game #2 saw Jimtown score three times in the last 6 minutes to beat North Posey 35-7.
Today will be a rough one as my team is an underdog in the first game even though they nocked off the number 1 team in their class..... 12 noon is kickoff!
