So my friend had an early Halloween party - and the day before, I decided, "I have a kimono, I'll be geisha." I took as quick a trip as is possible to Pearl River Mart, the mecca in NYC for all things Asian, and picked up a fan, a parasol, decorative hairpins, tabi (the split toe socks), and some wooden flip-flop shoes from another store nearby. Tons of white pancake makeup, rice powder, 22 bobby pins, a cut-up paper towel roll, thick layer of hairspray and two hours later, I figure it's passable enough for a gaijin with 24 hours of inspiration! Oh Megan, y ou certainly look the part here ;o)

aren't you cute!
I read somewhere that they are making/made a movie based off the book. Which I finished on my flight home a few months ago.

Thanks for looking everyone. I'm going to reprise the role again tonight, then maybe even tomorrow for the Halloween Parade if I'm that inspired.
And Brian - baby shampoo takes even the most caked-on make up off!
