Roger inspired me to take a couple of leaves in color...I thought this one was really beautiful...

You sure take some super-sharp photos there Emily. This one almost seems like it is too big for the frame. That is, its crop might be too tight. This one might be too brown. It's a good time of the year is approaching for fall colors: try finding some with multiple colors in a pile,etc. Hanging from branches is sometimes a good angle also.

Wow I don't think I have ever inspired someone before! :-)

I agree with GB the colours seem a little flat on the leaf and the grass and the crop does look a little tight.

However, I do like the colours in the leaf and put against another background would have made it stand out more. The other thing is the blade of grass comming in off the bottom across the leaf seems to be very distracting to me.

I agree with the comments about the background issues for this one. Might have looked really cool placed on a rock or some other consistly textured surface so I could just focus on the beautiful textures of the leaf.

Hey, thanks guys for the comments and suggestions on this. Since I took this one, I've actually had a chance to snag a couple others of "leaves in color"...heh....and against better background.
