Well, what would you expect but wheels and tyres :)
My thoughts.
#1 does the framing of the mechanic on the bike work, I'm throwing out the rule of 1/3
#2 framing again, his body almost matches the curve of the wheel, is almost good enough?
#3 is this too centred, does going off-axis add enough to offset that?
#4 I saved the best till last, at least I hope this one is the best.
#1 would be great if not for the two folks to the right.
#2 cropped for the upper body and through the center of the wheel make a very interesting perspective.
3&4 are just wheel shots for me.

Thanks, I still have a lot to learn about composition & cropping.
As a result I tend to shoot wide and crop later rather then get it right in the camera.
I still haven't worked out how to make wheels in the least bit interesting though :(

i like these photos, SW, they have potential. A quote I like to tell people is "photography starts after you press the button." I am hardcore about editing and cropping, though I like to compose as I shoot rather than crop later. Editing can do a lot to pictures, I hope you are ok with my rendition. With the pics you took, you really can't do much but turn it into abstract art, otherwise, like drg said, they are just a couple of wheels. With that said, you can come up with numerous designs from just one photo.
